Agent Tools

MCP Tools

MCP (Model Context Protocol) gives agents named tools and capability paths for reading browser state, inspecting pages, and carrying out bounded actions. Nova keeps this large surface readable through families, search, short detail pages, and stable agent discovery.

Dense constellation of many organized MCP tool cards.
MCP catalog 700 paths, one calm reference Families, search, slim pages, and agent-readable discovery.

Source & Version

Static public catalog contract

Static, manually maintained MCP catalog data. Changes are reviewed and written directly in this JSON file; no build helper overwrites it.

Compact manifest is the smaller file for fast agent discovery. The full manifest keeps the complete reference with safety axes, examples, and reviews. Agents should still read current MCP tool discovery before execution.

Orientation

A reference shape for a large MCP surface

Nova exposes many MCP entries because agents need more than one generic browser command. They need separate paths for reading state, claiming tabs, inspecting pages, handling permissions, working with memory, running bounded automation, and preserving evidence.

The current catalog processes all 700 paths and reviews every explicitly named public tool or API name at least once. Entries without an explicit tool name stay marked as reference paths, so the documentation does not invent names.

  • Families firstThe catalog starts with stable areas instead of exposing hundreds of entries at once. A reader can narrow the surface before choosing a detail page.
  • One purpose per pageEach canonical entry explains purpose, expected inputs, important response fields, side effects, and safety limits in a compact form.
  • Readable for agentsRoutes, sitemap entries, and LLM discovery stay stable so agents can cite the right reference instead of guessing from memory.

Catalog Shape

Families keep the catalog scannable

The first level groups the reference by task. Use the family filter when you already know the area; use search when you know a tool name, field, or action.
